Wills & Estate Planning

Have your Will drafted from a litigator’s perspective.

Champion Contested Wills offers both standard and complex Wills.

We do not offer, nor can we recommend a DIY form of Will as you are unable to receive relevant advice suited to each individual’s particular circumstances.

We can advise you on the benefits of a testamentary trust.

Superannuation & Insurance Claims

Death Benefit claims – are you eligible?

Are there any pre-arranged or pre-paid funeral plans, or funeral insurance policies in place?

It is important to note that funeral insurance benefits can be claimed even if funeral arrangements have been made independently, as there is no stipulation that the funds must solely be allocated for funeral expenses.

It is essential to assess whether the deceased held any insurance policies that could contribute to their estate for distribution. Identifying these policies, determining eligibility for claims, and calculating the potential benefits are crucial steps. Should any benefits from the policyholder’s insurance be due for payout, these must be recorded in the estate’s asset inventory.

Estate Administration

What needs to be done immediately after the death of a loved one?

The responsibility of managing the deceased’s estate and organising funeral arrangements falls to the Executor of the Will or an Administrator.

It is crucial to be familiar with the steps involved in estate administration, whether you are in the midst of drafting your Will or are tasked with executing or overseeing the estate of someone who has passed away.

Finalising administration of the Estate including distribution is a burden borne by the Executor of the Estate – let Champion guide you through.
